(Set-apart names and titles in Hebrew /Aramaic form)
Jeroboam rested with his ancestors, the kings of Israel. And Zechariah his son succeeded him as king.
[ Zechariah King of Israel ] In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned six months.
Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah. He attacked him in front of the people, assassinated him and succeeded him as king.
The other events of Zechariah’s reign are written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel.
He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.

King Joash did not remember the kindness Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had shown him but killed his son, who said as he lay dying, “May the Lord (YHWH) see this and call you to account.”
He sought God (Elohim) during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God (Elohim). As long as he sought the Lord (YHWH), God (Elohim) gave him success.

So I called in Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah as reliable witnesses for me.

Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple.
