1 John 4:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

He who does not ‘love’ (racham: (have) compassion, tender mercy, etc..) does not know ‘God’ (‘Elohiym: the Magistrates, Great, Mighty – ones), for ‘God’ (Elohiym) is ‘love’ (racham: (have) compassion, tender mercy, etc..).”

Strong’s Hebrew Lexicon:

Love: 7356 racham rakh’-am from 7355; compassion (in the plural); by extension, the womb (as cherishing the fetus); by implication, a maiden:– bowels, compassion, damsel, tender love, (great, tender) mercy, pity, womb.

G-d:  430 ‘elohiym el-o-heem’ plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:–angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
